#185: Reblog: “How we let people go” by Chelsea Fagan

How we let people go” is certainly a fitting read for anyone (or everyone) who has had to let go of a close friend, a romantic partner, or simply a person with whom we once shared a relationship that we valued greatly. Kudos to Chelsea Fagan for another well written article on people, relationships and emotions.

I think I’ll say this while I can, that, I’ll be here for you whenever you want me to, whenever you need me to. Don’t worry when or whether I’d like you to be around, or need you to be around. It’s okay. I’ve been thinking, I really gotta get used to this, being like the revolving door at the entrance of a hotel lobby. People: friends, close friends, strangers, acquaintances – they all just come and go. And maybe I haven’t been able to see it clearly, but perhaps, people are just gonna keep coming and going, all my life. Maybe it’s me, yeah I think it’s me. I guess this is how my life’s gonna be.

But for the handful who choose to stay, I’ll definitely cherish them. Though sometimes I may take them for granted, the bottom line is that, I really will, cherish them.

Day 2: It still hurts. And, well, there’s still a long way to go.
